Exchange of Experience 2024

Innovation Booster

September 17, 2024

Kongresszentrum Kreuz, Bern

We are pleased to announce the next Exchange of Experience of the Innovation Booster community. We will meet Tuesday, 17 September 2024, 9:00-17:00 at Kongresszentrum Kreuz Bern.

The overarching goal of the Innovation Booster community is to boost radical innovation in Switzerland using open innovation, user-centric approaches and agile methods.

In alignment with this goal, this year’s programme puts a focus on radical innovation: What drives it? How can it be assessed? What are its defining characteristics? Do 24 different Innovation Boosters reveal 24 shades of radical innovation? In workshops and discussions, we will try to find answers to these questions throughout the day.

Last but not least, we would like to take this opportunity to thank the Innovation Booster initiatives whose funding period will end in December this year.

The KTT team is looking forward to meeting you soon at Kongresszentrum Kreuz Bern.

Inspiration 1: A Culture Change for Radical Innovation

To find radical ideas, you must dare to deviate from dominant innovation pathways found in Switzerland. Jean-Philippe Hagmann sketches ways how Innovation Booster can support this culture change towards radical ways of thinking and doing innovation with their process design.

After studying mechanical engineering and industrial design, Jean-Philippe Hagmann founded a CTI-supported start-up and has since written three books on innovation. For more than 15 years, Jean-Philippe Hagmann has been advising companies in a wide range of industries on radical innovation. He is also a keynote speaker, a lecturer in innovation management at several universities and a former Innosuisse expert.

Workshop 1: A Culture Change for Radical Innovation - How does my Innovation Booster do it?

In this workshop, Innovation Boosters and their Innosuisse experts will work in groups of thematic clusters to discuss features of their process design. The goal is to identify what has helped them to achieve steps towards a cultural change for radical innovation in their field, what has not helped and what possible alternatives can be tested.

Inspiration 2: Radical Innovation is a Spectrum

Innovation Boosters invest much effort in generating ideas for radical solutions. But what really constitutes the radicality of an idea? With his inspirational input, Jean-Philippe Hagmann will help us understand key indicators to assess to what degree an idea is radical.

Workshop 2: Radical Innovation is a Spectrum - Exploring Key Indicators

In this group exercise, Innovation Booster and their Innosuisse experts will have the opportunity to test the approach sketched by Jean-Philippe Hagmann. The interaction again takes place in groups of thematic clusters and is designed to guide participants in answering this challenging question and discuss results.
